Armed with 20 years of industry experience, Mr. Quek Chin Seong founded New York Laundry in 1989 with a 1,300-square-foot premise in Ang Mo Kio. Our primary clients were hospitality and leisure establishments, which mostly laundered tablecloths and napkins. In the 1990s, a number of private hospitals approached New York Laundry regarding healthcare laundry services. At that time, there was no dedicated laundry plant for healthcare linen in Singapore. We were trained by nurses and infection control teams to align our plants for their purposes. In 2005, following a government directive to group laundry businesses in a purpose-built stack within an industrial building, New York Laundry relocated to our current factory in Yishun. Ms. Quek Sock Chen, our current Managing Director, then started learning the ropes of the laundry trade.
After years of planning, NY Laundry was established in 2013 as a healthcare laundry with an 11,000-square-foot specialised plant in Woodlands. Partnering with a major healthcare and logistics company, NY Laundry embarked on providing total linen management services, including linen leasing, RFID tagging and linen distribution systems. Today, New York Laundry continues to provide laundry for F&B, hospitality and leisure customers from Yishun. In fact, several of our customers have been with us from the beginning, which is a testament to our exceptional service. Furthermore, NY Laundry is quickly making a name for itself as a specialist in healthcare laundry.

Aim for zero accidents
As a company that specialises in laundry for hotels, restaurants, and medical facilities, safety is a top priority in our everyday work. We provide regular staff training on PPE usage and safe work procedures as part of our risk assessment under BizSAFE certification. The objective of this policy is to promote a healthy and safe working environment for everyone – staff, visitors and contractors. We will conduct our daily tasks in a manner that ensures a safe work environment and prevents hazardous conditions for all. This policy shall be periodically reviewed for effectiveness and compliance with legal and other requirements. Our goal is to have zero accidents due to unsafe acts and conditions.
